What is infrastructure?
Infrastructure is the fundamental facilities that a building needs including transport and communications, waste and sanitation, energy and water, public services.
In my proposed area, Keelham Farmshop is a current sustainable infrastructure close to where my building will be situated. Keelham has a sedum roof and was built on a brown-field site.
People will access my building from the main road, Gargrave Road, when customers are travelling by car, foot and bus (due to a nearby bus stop), there will be a path leading to the building and the carpark will be shared with craven pool. Customers can also access my building from the path leading up from the train station over the canal for those who have traveled by train.
Using this pre-existing carpark will reduce construction costs, however, a path will need to be made that goes from the carpark to the building.
