My client would like a climbing centre and believes that safety is the priority for this building as then there will be repeat customers by showing that you value and care about the customers. The building should be large enough for around 100 people to use it simultaneously including staff and the key features will be bouldering rooms, a shop and cafe as well as a party/conference room. The building will also include toilets, changing rooms and a reception along with storage rooms for the stock of the shop and holds. My client would like a speaker system throughout the centre and possibly a TV in the café.
The main layout my client would like to follow is on the ground floor is the reception, café, toilets and shop; on the first floor will be changing rooms, campus boards, finger boards and circuit board and on the second floor will be the bouldering rooms with beams and stalectites across the roof. The party/conference will be more private along with obviously the toilets and changing rooms. The campus and finger board rooms will be adjacent and multiple bouldering rooms will be connected as it will be open plan.
To make the build more sustainable my client would like a sedum roof and to use natural lighting.
My budget is £3 million but is flexible and the build should be completed by March 2020. The building is expected to be affordable and good quality.
